I have received a number of requests for new features in Killink CSV to be included in the next release of Killink CSV. I have been telling people I hope to have the next release available download no later than the end of February. Well, today is the end of February and the new release isn't quite ready. More testing is needed before this next release is made available to the public. Assuming all goes well, the new release should be available within the week.

The 3 most requested features coming in the next release are:Bulk paste, for those who might be wondering what it it, enables you to paste a value or a set of values from the Windows Clipboard into a selection of cells. This is a neat feature because it enables the user to quickly set the value for a large number of cells.

So if you are one of the people waiting on the next release of Killink CSV then keep an eye on this blog and or the announcement area of the White Peak Software support forums.

I just installed the trial version. If all testing goes well, I will purchase and use it to import employee data into our payroll service.

It would be very helpfull if a couple of Excel type features could be added to the next release: "freeze panes" is a must and "hide columns" would be a nice plus.

A freeze pane like feature already exists. Press F12 or select View > First Row as Read Only from the menu to freeze the first row of the file.

To hide a column drag the mouse over the separator bar in the header (A, B, C, D, etc). When you see the mouse cursor change to the double line with arrows pointing left and right, click and drag the column separator bar to the left. Move the separator bar all the way to the left will hide the column. You can under hide the column by selecting View > Show Hidden Cells from the menu bar.

Some type of hotkey or menu item to hide a column would be nice. I will add it to the feature request list.

Thanks for the feedback.
