Selling thecave???!!! I...couldn't...go on...

I never set out to sell thecave.com when I first registered the domain name. I use to think years ago how cool it would be if a movie came out called "The Cave" and the producers called me about buying the domain name. But realistically I never thought Hollywood would produce a movie called The Cave. Needless to say, a movie is coming out called The Cave and the producers did NOT call me. Instead they went with enterthecave.com. Oh well.

I get a few buy requests each year for thecave.com, some serious and others like the one above that seem less serious about buying the name. I'm very attached to the name thecave.com. It has a special meaning to me going back to the early days of my career. So it would take a lot of money for me to sell it. And since I don't see that happening anytime soon, I'm sure I will have thecave.com for another 10 years if not longer.

That being said, funny thing happened last week. I got a call about thecave.org. Yep, I have had thecave.org for a few years now but I never did anything useful with it. A church youth group called about it. After speaking with them about their intensions for the domain name, I decided to hand it over to them. I'm excited to see their site which should be up soon. And I feel good about being able to help them out with my small gesture.

This is funny I went to search about the movie The Cave and came across your web site. I also have My aunt and Uncle in town. They have lived in Salem Mass for about 40 years and love it. I am currently in Nebraska. So make the move to Salem and enjoy the history.

Thanks Paul. It looks like the move to Salem is going to happen in about 6 months.

That's a touching story. I'm glad you are not selling thecave.com though. And that sucks about the movie...coulda made some big bucks if only they'd called you. Dang it. That's nice about the church though - mom would love that story. I'll regale her with the story later today.
